Required Education/Certification: High school diploma or
general education degree (GED) and one to three years related experience and/or
Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license, CDL-Class B Preferred with school bus and passenger endorsement or must be able to obtain a CDL Class B with school bus certification within 1 year of hire date.
Preferred Experience: State or ASE certified preferred with
additional certifications in school bus related areas.
Oversees the maintenance of the District’s school buses, support vehicles and various maintenance equipment to assure their safe, effective, and efficient operation with no interruptions to the educational and support programs with school bus vehicles safety the primary concern. Other duties include:
Prepare for annual State Police bus inspections.
Drives established school bus routes when
Responds to bus drivers needs and maintains a
positive working relationship with the White Cloud Public Schools students, staff, and community
- Maintains a current inventory of supplies,
equipment, and tools.
- Promotes high standards of safety and
housekeeping methods in work-concentrated areas.
- Participates in continuing educational training
for new techniques and job skills requested.
- Ability to supervise drivers when the Director
of Transportation is absent.
